During WWII, it was popular for girlfriends and wives to have studio portraits taken to send to their soldiers fighting overseas.  The pin-up girl style was prevalent then.  So when I came across this studio portrait my mother had taken to send to my father while he was away in the War, it was definitely put in my "to paint" folder.  Really wanted to capture the "come hither" allure.  Again, this is a celebration of my family history and the times and fashions of the 1940's.  This piece is framed.

This piece was juried into the Lincoln Gallery National Fine Art Show, Loveland, CO.  On exhibit May 9 through June 5, 2025.
